1. Introduction

DocGenius is developed on the Salesforce platform using Apex and Lightning Components. To learn about Salesforce's data practices, please refer to their Privacy Policy.

DocGenius connects to your Google Drive, allowing you to access templates, create Google Docs, and save them directly in your Drive. You are in control of the access permissions for each document. For information about how Google handles data, please check Google’s Privacy Policy.

2. Information We Collect

We store the email address, profile Url and username associated with the user's Google account within the user's Salesforce environment to help you easily identify which account is currently integrated with DocGenius. This data will be removed once the user unlinks the Google account.

Additionally, we store the Google Doc ID within the user's Salesforce environment for any document you select to use as a template within DocGenius. This information is retained solely for the purpose of facilitating the user's document generation activities.

3. Sharing User Information

User’s data is only stored in their Salesforce environment; we don’t share, sell, trade, or rent user’s personal information to third parties.

4. Security of User’s Information

Personal information of User is stored in a custom setting with custom metadata, which is Salesforce’s recommended way to store user’s data. To learn about Salesforce's data practices, please refer to their Privacy Policy.

Data security is very important to DocGenius and Salesforce. We use appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect the personal data that we collect and process about you against accidental or intentional manipulation, loss, destruction, or other unauthorized access or disclosure. We are designed to provide a level of security appropriate to the risk of processing your personal information.

5. Data Processing and Usage

All data processed by DocGenius originates from the user's Salesforce Organization and is stored in the user's Google Drive. DocGenius also allows to store generated documents on other platforms, such as AWS S3, Dropbox, and OneDrive.

By authorizing your Google account in Salesforce under the User Configuration tab, you give DocGenius permission to create and modify Google Documents. This permission is managed through a securely stored OAuth token in Salesforce and linked to your Google Account. You can review and manage the third-party apps connected to your Google Account on the “Third-party apps & services Connected to Your Account” page in Google settings, where you can also revoke DocGenius’ access if needed.

Using the OAuth token from the user's Salesforce Organization, DocGenius makes API calls to Google services to:

  • Create a copy of the template document in your Google Drive.
  • Update the document with specified merge fields.
  • Delete a copy of the template document in Users Google Drive.
  • Fetch the user-selected Google Doc template from the user's Google Drive.
  • Upload the generated document to the user's Google Drive.

The generated document is saved in the user's Google Drive (if chosen), giving you read and write access.

Choosing the Google Doc Template allows DocGenius to access your documents to create a template. Based on your selection, it can generate a PDF or DOCX file and save it to Google Drive or Other Storage systems if you opt for that. DocGenius doesn't retain or process any data or files outside your Salesforce Org, with generated files saved in your Salesforce system or External Storage options (e.g. Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox, AWS S3) based on User’s selection.

For more information on the security practices of the Google Drive platform, please refer to Google’s security documentation.
